Is there another art deco bronze sculpturist who sums up the 1920s more succinctly than Demetre Chiparus? We have a range of deco Chiparus bronzes available so please take a look. Chiparus made some of the epochal statues – he was fascinated by Egyptian dancers, chorus girls, flappers, in fact any form or lithe young female was the perfect subject for Chiparus. Some of his most famous works include the Starfish dancer, Eternal Friends, Fan Dancer, Innocence, Antinea, Thais, Semiramis and the Exotic Dancer.
Classic Chiparus on the large marble base. Come and view these art deco bronzes in our Hertfordshire showroom – give us a call to make an appointment.
Another classic work – such exuberance to the cabaraet dancer on the classically tiered marble base. Chiparus was famed for his use of the Chryselephantine technique which is the combined use of ivory and bronzes. He exhibited at the Salon in Paris in 1920
This has to be my favourite Chiparus bronze – also known as Eternal Friends (or Friends Forever). As a work of sculpture it somehow encapsulates the deco ethos, the lithe female symmetrically flanked by the pair of Borzoi hounds. Love it. Museum quality.
Another classic Chiparus, this time entitled Karmona – wonderful Harlequin themed costume on the athletic female. This would definitely be the talking point in any room, a real collectors piece. If you can’t find the Chiparus bronze you are looking for please contact us and we can source for you.
